Congratulations,first of all.The best south african music blog,absolutely. I really love all the music from South Africa known as soul music.More of this,like The Movers,Soul Throbs,flaming Souls,The Anchors,etc, would be great. Also waiting for Almon Memela`s Broken shoes Lp,as I think many people are. Cheers
ReplyDeleteSince I first stumbled across Matsuli's early posts of Batsumi's work I have been a man possessed, searching high and low for their original issues (alas to no avail so far)...both of the albums he shared have become firm favorites in the audio rotation in our house. This reissue is a beautiful, beautiful thing...

ReplyDeleteyes, the blog is pretty amazing as is, love that many different styles of SA music are explored. So happy Electrc Jive started up as Matsuli posts became more infrequent. The Malombo posts were especially enjoyed. Looking forward to hearing the Batsumi on something other than mp3's! The quality of the Chapita lp was excellent so i'm sure this will follow suit.
